Reusing, Growing, Vermicomposting, and Trash - 1
We really enjoyed this wonderful lesson and activity. Some of the ways this group plans to make change are by packing our lunches in reusable containers, growing our own food like vegetables and and fruits in our school garden, feeding our organic scraps to our worms in our vermicomposting bin, and picking up trash when we are out and see it. @take.me.outside @greenlearning #TMOWeek Created by: Ms. I's Learners Contest submission by @learnwithms.i TMO Week - Ripples of Change Activity

Happy Take Me Outside Day!! Many of our Outdoor Learning classes teamed up to create their nature inspired Ripples of Change today! They created these beautiful works of art to have the same ripple effect that we see as a pebble drops into water. We talked about how a small action can have a ripple effect and create a big change. They are already creating so many ripples this year through their sustainability projects! One girl today told me that she taught her little brother how to recycle properly and now he does it independently. Now who will he teach? Thank you @greenlearning and @take.me.outside for this amazing activity! #tmoweek @plrobertsonps Created by: La classe de Mme Horowitz Contest submission by @mmehorowitz TMO Week - Ripples of Change Activity

TMO: Play Outside
Play Outside Seeing students outside digging holes to plant vegetables is by far one of the most rewarding sites. To hear them laugh, see them smile, and to watch them growing personally is a treasure. We are so happy that your campaign gets us to think hard this week about being OUTSIDE! There's so much learning happening this week by doing that. Thank you! Created by: Sacramento Splash TMO Week - Reflection Activity

Autumn Snow Suns
This year, our grade 2 community of learners will start a garden as their ripple of change for the environment. The students will care for flowers and various plants in a small plot of land near our school. By caring for these plants, they will learn about the importance of taking care of nature and how plants help clean the air, provide food, and create habitats for animals like bees and butterflies. Each student will be responsible for watering the plants, pulling weeds, and watching the garden grow. They will also compost their leftover lunch scraps to create nutrient-rich soil for their plants. This project will not only beautify their school, but it will also teach them how even small actions can make a big difference in protecting the planet. Their garden will inspire others to appreciate nature and start their own green initiatives, creating a ripple of environmental change in their community. #TakeMeOutsideDay Created by: A Grade 2 Community of Learners Contest submission by @erikachapina TMO Week - Ripples of Change Activity

Helping Family, Donating, Saving Energy and Water - 3
We really enjoyed this wonderful lesson and activity. Some of the ways this group plans to make change are by helping her families make better choices when shopping, donating our old clothing, turning off lights and things we are not using at school and at home, and not wasting water.

Grade 2 Garden
